He Is Risen! Easter Craft and Bible Lesson

Jesus is risen! Easter craft and Bible Lesson! at www.ArtisticHandsofFaith.com
This is a great craft and lesson for Sunday School or Children’s church but can also be used at home as a fun way to teach your children about the true meaning of Easter. Christ’s resurrection. :-)

Dear Heavenly Father,

I pray you would bless those who are teaching this lesson. Lord prepare the hearts of the little ones who are going to hear Your message of truth. Fill the teachers, helpers and parents with the words to say and allow this activity to be a fun way to celebrate Your resurrection and a reminder of why Easter is such an awesome holiday to celebrate!
In Jesus Name I Pray,

Amen

Paper plate
Brown construction paper (1 sheet)
Scissors
Hot glue or School glue
Crayons or markers
Popscicle sticks (one short one and one regular one….two regular will work)
First cut your paper plate in half. On one side cut a “U” shape hole toward the flat edge like seen below.

Next using hot glue (this dries quickly and is my preferred glue but you could use school glue…it will just take a few minutes to dry). Glue the edges of the plate together to create the tomb.

Have the children color the outside of the tomb adding grass, flowers, rocks, etc.

Next assemble the cross using popsicle (craft) sticks. If you’re using two regular size sticks cut one of them to a shorter length. Glue them together in the shape of a cross.

The kids can color the cross if they like and then glue it to the back side of the tomb.

Crumple up a brown (or gray) piece of construction paper to form the large rock/boulder that sealed the tomb.

Cut out an angel (you could use two per child since scripture mentions two angels) and have the children color them.

Put the angel on the front of the tomb.
